Music Monday: Quigley EP: Pleiades Prod. By Frankmusik

What an awesome MUSIC MONDAY. Last night on twitter I was informed that the awaited Pleiades was dropping by Quigley! I interviewed her a while back on JAYSWAG and she is so sweet! I just downloaded it and its a quick 6 track EP.
It opens up with Imitate Love, I quickly took a liking. It's officially my favorite track from her. The vocals are grand. I love the lyrics the most. The production is done by Frankmusik so it's automatically amazing; you can hear the use of his signature keyboards and little electronic sounds throughout the EP. The second track is Inkblot game, the song that made me want to interview her! It's great to have the studio version on my ipod. It closes out with Making Plans, a sweet ballad about realizing your worth and taking a chance. The last three tracks are the instrumentals for Imitate Love, Inkblot Game, and Making Plans. Super soothing!

Weekend Wrapup: Swapnista Houston!

On Saturday April 28, the very first swapnista event was held in Houston. It was co-hosted by the "Houston Fashion Bloggers" which is a group that I recently joined. Couture Blowout was the venue and upon arrival I was greeted by a sweet sales associate... and a Chanel Jacket! Couture Blowout is a high end consignment shop and flipping through the racks of Versace, Chanel, Marc Jacobs; seeing prada bags, and Louboutins on the walls-- I was in designer heaven.

Swapnista is a clothing swap concept. We all brought 3 items, had 5 minutes to select 3 new items. I love everything I buy so it's generally really hard to be to give up items but I braved it out and got some interesting things! And, if you follow me on twitter or FB you know that I competed in style wars. I rocked the tribal trend, and is the reason why I don't really have any photos from the event LOL. Photolog: Spring Reception 2012

As if I couldn't mention it enough, I AM GRADUATING MAY 12 :) Every year our department hosts a reception to kind of recognize the graduating seniors and students who have received scholarships and awards. I have gone in the past couple of years because I won scholarships but this year, I am graduating AND found out I won an award in Outstanding Academics (I have the highest GPA in FMD) and another in outstanding service (basically bc I was in the Fashion club forever).

I wore a thrifted neon churidar kameez//thrifted orange bag//forever21 blazer and skirt// heels from god knows where.

Now.... TO FIND A JOB.

Sew Easy, DIY Neon and Lace Dress

Yesterday I picked up my last check at the town center and decided to shop around to see if there was anything I wanted. I kept seeing white lace dresses but In my head I wanted to layer it with neon. I saw the perfect dress at forever21 but for some reason I told myself I could make it myself. The one pictured is a cute A-line dress from Topshop. I was feeling crafty so I drove to Jo-ann's fabric and bought some lace and neon broadcloth and started molding my dress.

I'm petite so I only used 1 yd of each fabric. They sell lace and broadcloth in virtually every color so you can make this dress yourself in any colors you choose!

If you want a tutorial let me know, I'll draw it up, it was Super easy to make!

Seen at the Mulberry pool party the day before her birthday, I give her festival fashion a 10! Yes, this pool party was during Coachella, you know; the one event clogging all my blog topics for the past week or so?!
