H&M Opens in Baybrook Mall: From Plebeian to Press.

Scene: Baybrook Mall. 9am.

Story: EST. Arrival, 9am. Walking, walking, walking forever. I'M HERE. Maybe the 300ish person in line. Next to a cool trendy kid missing his last day of high school; and another girl reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. We all are here for the awaited opening of H&M BAYBROOK. It was the perfect day to forget my iPod (Sarcasm). At least I stopped off for some Starbucks and doughnut holes.
(2 hours and small talk later)
I discover the lady behind me is carrying a Pink Tazer. cool.
(30 minutes later)
I receive my awaited placement pass. Nikki also shows up around this time! You exchange the placement pass for a scratch off worth between $10-500.(I never get to do that).

Excuse my poor nails.

NO LINES. NO FIGHTING. JUST SHOPPING.
I ran into the lovely miss Nicole Christie from Fashion Star, and Joy sewing, as well as some other bloggers. I even filmed a little segment for the news at 5pm, channel 2.

Wrapped in Merino

I recently recieved an email from Woolmark mentioning their "Wrapped in Merino" campaign. I finally got around to being apart of the Woolmark world record attempt to create the Worlds Longest Social Scarf! There are great fashion prizes to be won every week when you participate; including Net-A-Porter vouchers and wonderfully soft Merino wool scarves!

For those who don't know, Merino wool is a unique fiber, loved by fashion and apparel designers for its quality and versatility. The campaign aims to give users a hands on experience with this fiber as they are given the opportunity to design and customize their own personal scarf. (Thumbs up for taking textile science classes and knowing about fibers!!! LOL.)

Weekend Wrapup, and A New Chapter Begins

On Saturday I finally had my Graduation party. It was such a long day, actually long week. I am finally getting some down time. I wore a cute fishtail dress with a orange and blue chevron print. I love it, super comfy.

My Ate Vergie made me this cool tree with pink grad caps and diplomas on it. It was really awesome.

Old and new friends + the Boyfriend were among the bajillion guests that came. Lots of food = Lots of presents. Mostly money and gift cards but haaaaayyyy, it was awesome.

The rest of my weekend consisted of other grad parties and a memorial day BBQ. Discovered the art of Bocce ball. Also was eaten alive by mosquitoes. Not to mention being harassed about what my next move is. I am still a brand ambassador for Stylitics (PS WE HAVE A CON-CALL WITH THE CMO OF TORY BURCH TONIGHT!!!) sooo in the mean time, I'm kinda doing something. Hoping to snag something new soon, I have the itch.

Mickey Drexler, J. Crew, TONIGHT CNBC

The INFAMOUS Mickey Drexler will be featured tonight on CNBC tonight 10/9c on the special, Inside J.crew. He transformed this company into a major fashion force. Last year, it raked in 2billion in sales.

Anna Wintour and other industry insiders will be speaking on the genius that is Mickey Drexler. I'll be watching, they're going to discuss what is next for the large retailer.

Such a steal, you can buy them in every color for that price. Honestly, they are so trendy I wouldn't invest a lot of money into the designer version of these sunglasses. For $5 I would definitely rock the trend for a season and still be happy with my wallet!

Beach Dreams

I want to go to the beach. It feel like it has been a long week, but it's only Tuesday. Had interview #2 yesterday. I'm playing the waiting game now. But while I wait I've been getting really cool emails for events and such. It's going to be a good summer.I've never been so positive about life, I guess once you spend the last 5 months of your life working for the devil, you really can take anything. I always say everything happens for a reason, and that experience definitely prepared me for life.

Yesterday I finally got a chance to wear that Rick-Rack top I bought foreverrrr ago. I love this piece, it layers over dresses so well!I wrote about it in THIS POST, saying I wanted to put it over a red dress. I never found a red dress... LOL. But I have this cute blue one, and a pink dress that I have paired it with.

Oh and I got a new camera, that explains the better quality of that second photo. It was a grad present. I decided I wanted something in between a point and shoot and a full DSLR. This. Is.Perfect. Samsung W150F. I really needed something with better picture quality and that shot HD video. HD video was really important. It also lets you upload and access photo's through wi-fi, and has crazy editing filters. Im still learning how to use it but it's cool so far.

Infinite Summer

As I get accustomed to the increasingly predetermined status of "Unemployed College Grad," I have been able to think about life. Peruse the thoughts of a static mind, and really reflect on what is really going on. I am currently in the process of phone interviews, but I am still weighing the options of the outcomes that might develop from any decisions that I might make. Can I admit I'm still California dreaming? I admit everything happens the way it's supposed to. But THIS is different. I'll just go with the flow, as usual.

Printed Blazers

I am obsessed with prints on prints! Every time I see a printed blazer worn properly I want it in my closet. I put together this polyvore of a few including an affordable one from Zara! I think I saw the same one on a haul from Dulce Candy. I'm pretty sure its the only haul I've seen from Dulce Candy too. I know she's a popular guru but I've never really gotten into her. But anyway, I'm sorting through my life right now. I think I'm at the stage of graduation where you feel slightly desperate and unaccomplished. My motto right now is GO BIG OR GO HOME. I'm really trying to exhaust myself, which is probably bad... But while I'm young, I think I can continue to get away with it.

I also styled it with the Del Rey! If you haven't heard about it, Mulberry dedicated an inspired bag to  Lana Del Rey called the "Del Rey." It's a simple and sophisticated bag, much like the artist herself. It's one of my favorites.

I like the tan and white bags the best out of the colorways.

I Did It :)

I graduated yesterday! It was a long day for me since I went to an outstanding student ceremony before-hand but it was great. It was funny standing in gradline and being seated next to my freshman roommate, we were like; WHAT? It feels good to have a bachelors. I'm off to find a job... but oddly part of me kind of wants to go back to school. IDK what the future holds ever. I guess we'll see. It will all be here. I started this blog as a freshman in college. In may 2008 right after I graduated High School. It's cataloged everything from crazy suitemates,fashion trends, past jobs, internships, music,scholarships, and my biggest event to date; Graduating college.At the outstanding student ceremony Dr.White (the fashion chair) said that I might fight my niche in social media. She might be right.

Graduation Dresses

I am graduating in 2 days! I can't believe it. I am getting increasingly more excited about it. I already have my dress. It's simple, and I bought it at Plato's Closet. Its a champagne color, hits a little above the knee. Not too many people are going to see it... and like most of my other dresses, I am most likely going to wear it once. My only real stipulations were that it would be strapless and have pockets, CHECK AND CHECK. Oh and NOT BLACK! Pockets are for my phone, hayyyy. Live tweeting during Grad only because it is 2012.
I put together is polyvore of dresses that I think would be cute either worn to the ceremony because you're in it, or watching. It's Texas. Tis Hot. I am going to another ceremony before grad because I won an outstanding student award, so I am getting special honors. I won't wear my cap and gown to that event, so my dress is still a little formal to be able to be worn to both.

I took my only 2 finals yesterday AND I also took my graduate exit survey. Its almost complete.

Music Monday- Beastie Boys/ MCA Tribute

After hearing of the passing of MCA, I mentioned on twitter that I love Beastie Boys. My earliest music memories were a mix of Beastie Boys, Spice Girls, No Doubt and NSYNC. Weird mix I know.Singing intergalactic, Body Movin', and Sabotage will forever be a hilarious embarrassing memory. I think the Beastie Boys made me like New York. They all seem so awesome. No one has anything bad to say about Yauch. Everyone in the industry is mentioning how sweet and talented he was. He was also a Buddhist, and interviewed the Dalai Lama.  I'm pretty gutted that MCA is no longer making dope music for all of us. HOWEVER, the point of life isn't to live forever, but to make something that does. Thanks for the ILL music. Triple trouble for life.

1) Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a 21 year old fashion blogger. I am a recent graduate of Shaw University. I am an aspiring fashion stylist. I love fashion and style, blogging. hip hop, food, and travel. I just want to remain inspired throughout my life and I don't ever want to settle.

2) What made you start a youtube channel and webshow? I love it!

I always wanted my own show and I honestly want to be like Oprah one day. I got a few comments on my blog from readers saying they wanted to see more of my outfits, more of where I shop, and just more of me. That's what fueled my determination to follow through and to make it as personal as possible.

3) What inspires you to work in fashion? I heard you want to pursue a career as a stylist?

Every job is going to be demanding of your skills and time. So why not do a job you love?! Not only do I love dressing people in beautiful clothes, I love exploring different lines and structures for different body types, I love to write about fashion news and trends, and I love working behind the scenes and handling the business of fashion. So being passionate about the versatility of the fashion industry is what's most inspiring. I can do anything I want to do!

4) What advice do you have for other girls who want to follow their dreams?

Just do it. Don't think to much about it because you may think yourself out of it. I just completed an internship with a costume designer and I really enjoyed that experience. I commuted from Philly to NY twice a week and I maintained a part time position else where. I got the internship by emailing and contacting over 50 magazines, stylist, and businesses. I got discouraged w/ every rejection but my will to pursue my dreams didn't allow me to give up. So be responsible and sensible but do not settle, aim for your dreams, and something will finally stick.

5)Anything else you want to tell my readers?
