YIKES. I feel off my blog game this month for sure. Its been a pretty busy past few weeks. In all of the whirlwind I did head out to California for work! I got to hang out with John and Dylan for real this time! Work and play, the balance I live for. I will be spending increasingly more time there in the future so this trip was a chill Burbank vibe filled with food, tarot, and a fun game night.<br />
<b>But I'm tired. </b>Its been pretty non-stop and the only thing really keeping me going is the Christmas Cruise and the fact that 2018 is basically over.<br />

I am also petitioning that Jollibee opens in Portland (preferably Beaverton).<br />
Technically this week was my first week in my new job but it was a whirlwind, I have spent no time at my desk, and CHILE.<br />
<br />
SO TIRED, BUT WE <u>ALMOST</u> MADE IT TO 2019.<br />
<br />
And yes, I did vote. Oregon makes it so easy since you vote by mail. I dropped my ballot off on my way to my fave smoothie shop. Phew.<br />

Here are 3 spooky shows to binge. Now that its cold, rainy and dark it's time to cuddle with a heated blanket and get into:<br />

YOU. Judging myself, this is a lifetime TV show. You is based on book (that I need to buy to read on a plane) by Caroline Kepnes. It is about an obsessive book store manager that falls in love with an aspiring writer. He stalks her using social media and they eventually date. He is so obsessive he stops at nothing and noone to keep her to himself. Its SOOOO good. Like, he is a creepy person but I also still like his character. It is so weird, its like he is so obsessed with her and cares so much but takes it to an unhealthy level. LOVE.<br />

I'm only one episode in, but Sabrina is on netflix. If you didn't know Greendale is a city really close to Riverdale. I'm so glad the same people producing Riverdale and telling this version of Sabrina. It's pretty dark but I am giving it a go.<br />

THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. If you haven't watched it by now what are you doing? It ties together soooo well and the story telling is so good. It was complicated at first because they jump between present and past often and I didn't get it at first. Episode 5 tied it together and from then on I was hooked on figuring out how it would end. It's not a creepy can't sleep scary, but there are moments where I jumped from unexpected moments. 10/10.<br />
<br />
What are you binging?<br />

Almost 40 tracks, 2 hours and 9 minutes of moody music. Something about a mellow tune and rain is the most chill thing ever. I commute so on a drive its great, just trying to unwind its a vibe, and just trying to get ready on a cold morning its what I've been playing all month.<br />

I spent my first year adjusting, trying to decide if I liked it, if I was doing the right thing. If I would get used to the rain, or make friends, or get a routine. Last year I wrote this post, and I called it "<a href="http://www.malibumara.com/2017/10/one-year-selfish-year.html" target="_blank">the selfish year.</a>" I recapped 5 things I learned but this time around I have 5 short stores and tea to share.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr0xjrRJDjWk47_jlaO8c5Xi2cLmcJFAXs9PFMI2jYvjvi5VdAgk2LDPSRANAOTH0tCIPE6BmgJ89VeOa6Dh8YTloKzJk9xP_5y21B5D7R1PFIflfKtscy3HCPG3RNBBtBGq-st1duQZD1/s1600/IMG_3515.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1321" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr0xjrRJDjWk47_jlaO8c5Xi2cLmcJFAXs9PFMI2jYvjvi5VdAgk2LDPSRANAOTH0tCIPE6BmgJ89VeOa6Dh8YTloKzJk9xP_5y21B5D7R1PFIflfKtscy3HCPG3RNBBtBGq-st1duQZD1/s640/IMG_3515.JPG" width="528" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1) A lot of people ask me about what made me leave my last job in Houston. There were a few reasons but anything I went through honestly shaped me into the strong willed person I am today. My answer is almost always that 'the corporate culture was very poor and not a fit for me personally.' I am currently at a company where we work hard and play hard too. Micromanagement isn't common because we are trusted to be the experts at our jobs. Do politics exist? Of course. It's still corporate America, but I never feel like I am not allowed to be myself. I think the ability to freely do my job and be trusted to be an expert is the best thing. I know that seems really small but it really made the difference in me waking up excited to go to work every day. I loved what I did before, but the struggle of having to fit into a box, knowing you reached a glass ceiling, and knowing your ideas were not valued even though they were amazing weighed heavier. I think not being able to do my job, and entrusting ops to do the job of merchandisers was when I knew I needed to move on. I am happy because people trust me to run my business and let me know that I can do it well, and they collaborate when I need help. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2) I have gained a lot of confidence in the last 6 months. At my last job, I would often be around colleagues that would talk down to me in different ways or treat me less than. This came in the form of pay gaps within specific titles, different rules for different people, rude/ passive aggressive emails or text messages. I never said anything but TBH, it wouldn't have mattered. Fast forward to now... I found myself speaking up for myself and finding that my voice actually gets heard sometimes. In two years I've only had to do this one time, but it's been impactful for my personal growth. Yes, it resulted in an outcome that I wanted, but over that, I drove that by standing up for me. Thats probably my most important lesson I learned the the last year. Go hard for yourself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMbYBbeB6WVxHxY_MG2zp03oiDsS0n7JeuuSKRbUNHSYZ09pKPcy9TZdbVbrzWo1jXBrLjPF7kz47EmUPyPtPoBksdTUfQQrIAOtS723mUMi0yFQijeaTmzMhzqP79mC7NDfI_CbNpQvH_/s1600/IMG_3517.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMbYBbeB6WVxHxY_MG2zp03oiDsS0n7JeuuSKRbUNHSYZ09pKPcy9TZdbVbrzWo1jXBrLjPF7kz47EmUPyPtPoBksdTUfQQrIAOtS723mUMi0yFQijeaTmzMhzqP79mC7NDfI_CbNpQvH_/s640/IMG_3517.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3) Do I still hate Portland? I don't hate it... but I don't love it here. I like it. Just like. I have a routine down, I eat better, I go to the gym often, yes I have made friends (but only at work... should I try bumble for friends?), I have done more touristy things, I feel like my apt feels like home. I still miss being in a big city, I miss the diversity of Houston, people that say y'all and really good BBQ. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4) I think the best part about moving here, and its honestly just a personality thing, is that I keep it way too real. I made it too hard of a habit to be 100 about everything but it's made things so easy. I don't pretend to be anything I'm not and if you like it, I genuinely rock with you, enjoy your friendship and we vibe. If we don't vibe I don't bother to pretend. This is a good and a bad thing. Good for me because I out here protecting my energy, but bad because there are like maybe 5 people that know I don't rock with them and it's mad awkward when I'm stuck in their presence. I just can not pretend to be a friend. I don't have the bandwith with everything that I deal with. I reserve that energy for people who deserve it. But protecting your energy is real! I'm never pressed because I don't need to pretend. Its been great, so far but who knows what another year will do. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
5) Im still a work in progress. I have been reading the daily stoic everyday and focusing on the art of living. A few months back I read "My Miracle Morning" and am focused on making my life better mentally. The Daily Stoic helps me reflect daily on little aspects of my life and in the middle of a lot of chaos I feel ok. OMG. Growth. </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgsF38etsCv7MZyShxU-6dD16s90eaIssKg500tLI54229Q1tzqj_Dt7key1UcISbzbyoD73ym9T8kUJonhEnQC4y04VRBxbONTOBfs7GzYmeQfagnwpL5pKQGUhC_rpLpL7mjmgGwtiqx/s1600/Screen+Shot+2018-09-23+at+12.48.19+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="630" data-original-width="942" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgsF38etsCv7MZyShxU-6dD16s90eaIssKg500tLI54229Q1tzqj_Dt7key1UcISbzbyoD73ym9T8kUJonhEnQC4y04VRBxbONTOBfs7GzYmeQfagnwpL5pKQGUhC_rpLpL7mjmgGwtiqx/s640/Screen+Shot+2018-09-23+at+12.48.19+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Every year I want to try this trend but I feel like it doesn't look good on me. This year I strolled to the thrift store and picked up the most perfect corduroy jacket with shearling trim collar and really cute corduroy cropped pants from H&M. I'm not sure how I fell in love with this texture but I am finally happy with a few f the items I have found! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Corduroy is popping up in different sizes and so many fall colors. So technically, corduroy is just a tufted form of velvet, together layered the textures make your fall outfits pop! Maybe I just needed the right inspo, I might have been wearing it all wrong before. The cropped H&M pants I purchased are so perfect I kind of want a second pair because they are the most comfortable and best fitting pant I think I own. It's done, I'm on the hunt for a black version. </div>

I ran to New York for about 40 Hrs and tried to make the most of it. Even though most of it was for work I did hit up a cute restaurant, soho house and the glossier showroom. I'm kind of shocked I didn't grab macarons from Laduree or anything from Dominic Ansel. I need to just go for like 5 days on my own.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvGfIQhx_FxYYRByPsJDDE_V9HBcCuOL6O8yrt-NRXKIQWHLiL_kKrf7nC24HZ426VOyDLN_8zBY1HiDnl6Q-bAX5TozW2Vq05q-bleikuRtJ7Pgwnacu_bfZlq4hY5iuVSrQfWvYqbbE/s1600/1538574610255.JPEG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvGfIQhx_FxYYRByPsJDDE_V9HBcCuOL6O8yrt-NRXKIQWHLiL_kKrf7nC24HZ426VOyDLN_8zBY1HiDnl6Q-bAX5TozW2Vq05q-bleikuRtJ7Pgwnacu_bfZlq4hY5iuVSrQfWvYqbbE/s640/1538574610255.JPEG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did go to the glossier showroom so all was right with the world. Its in a penthouse in SOHO with a line in the front so you know its hype. You take an elevator up where everything is laid out to test. Then you order on an ipad and the pick and pack in their signature packaging and call your name when its done. I kind of wish more stores were like that. It was super simple and so pretty.... so pretty I'm redoing my bathroom to be glossier inspired. (it's extra, I know)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I ended up watching 4 movies on my total 11 hr airtime flying coast to coast:<br />
Fahrenheit 451<br />
Call me by your name<br />
Love, Simon<br />
Ready Player One<br />
And as a bonus I finished American Vandal season 2.<br />
I recommend them all. I cried watching Love, Simon on the plane. It was so sweet.<br />
<br />
I only took ONE pair of sneakers and they were my most understated pair:<br />

And thats it. My New York minute. Also, why is NY so expensive? I would LOVE to live there but chile...<br />

Alright, when fall/winter rolls around I honestly want nothing more than to curl up on my couch with tea, read or binge. Its cold, its dark, I just like to recharge from a long day and get into a good show or two... Here are five.</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
INSECURE</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKBsw1QcOELAogficpXNyAMTsT86448m13aZCP1miol3exQD3LS-dnuUkvDd0-ocmPHnOK5y_mebshT8oSrZ6Z7qIOVmwLnyXvGoZgzeG8Nli6ggWyGnYwSkBa1emyQ7yNuc_BAHxnRSm_/s1600/91SLzt0pF4L._RI_SX380_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="285" data-original-width="380" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKBsw1QcOELAogficpXNyAMTsT86448m13aZCP1miol3exQD3LS-dnuUkvDd0-ocmPHnOK5y_mebshT8oSrZ6Z7qIOVmwLnyXvGoZgzeG8Nli6ggWyGnYwSkBa1emyQ7yNuc_BAHxnRSm_/s640/91SLzt0pF4L._RI_SX380_.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Insecure has 3 seasons and is on HBO. Don't have HBO? Neither do I, I have the HBO NOW app that I honestly only subscribe to when insecure is on... when its off I get rid of it. I'm sure HBO doesn't appreciate it but they are working on new series that might keep me around year long in the future. For now, Issa and her antics are hilarious and real. The only complaint I have about this show is that it is only 30 minutes and the seasons are so short. Its hella funny though! My Sunday is made so much better by this show. I always get a laugh in. </div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgRQ0s5LUVO944lJD6okFRqcbJL7caDRjegxQkd9zaIz5r8hn5wn_-X_ic9ExZ9pyQeV7hN4-vZZcySNN_grABWZ9zSrsOMjNm0GjC-o6KYN84WgXv0Vg6exXrMcTUU5Y1cOgyAjbFBOju/s1600/howtoget5-750x380.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="380" data-original-width="750" height="324" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgRQ0s5LUVO944lJD6okFRqcbJL7caDRjegxQkd9zaIz5r8hn5wn_-X_ic9ExZ9pyQeV7hN4-vZZcySNN_grABWZ9zSrsOMjNm0GjC-o6KYN84WgXv0Vg6exXrMcTUU5Y1cOgyAjbFBOju/s640/howtoget5-750x380.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After they killed Wes I was like, "What's the point in watching this now?" I am still into it. I think I'm invested in all the characters. YES, some of them make stupid ass decisions but I am addicted. Is Bonnie ok? Will homegirl get her baby back? And why is her dad trash? Who is that new guy that is cute that is obviously the eye candy to replace Wes? </div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
RIVERDALE</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxCdNHzcXvxAy7oQfs1sR1GjzGRyg8OYQeOJUu-xdgyyc9F0RRwQ2UENhx-b3rkJWpRm0-E4ntmAEWmxxwRvpvfjb-fi_buWwy6qvQNugf8kh2RRHdeT9FE6TlquMAuboPBLQX5OMWSaAZ/s1600/riverdale.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxCdNHzcXvxAy7oQfs1sR1GjzGRyg8OYQeOJUu-xdgyyc9F0RRwQ2UENhx-b3rkJWpRm0-E4ntmAEWmxxwRvpvfjb-fi_buWwy6qvQNugf8kh2RRHdeT9FE6TlquMAuboPBLQX5OMWSaAZ/s640/riverdale.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Riverdale might be my guilty pleasure. Based on the Archie's comic, this dark twist is so juicy but soooo good. We left season 2 with Archie getting arrested. Season 3 begins with him in court. Toni Topaz is now a series regular, dating Cheryl now, I figured we would see her more. My complaint about season 2 was we kind of forgot about Polly and that she was preggo. I hope they show Polly again because she was kind of important to season 1, weird that she was left out so much season 2. Dark noir theme, perfect for spooky szn. </div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
AMERICAN VANDAL</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxGZTkaR7_Ma9aNkY75k5x_IGgEDV7qFVeUHO-PU7iuEcjjtN8xOBbfxCUm0WYhQVJJil4zm2tOMZ6xyCxOli54QsrldV6EeGgTdAcLeqsvtGMXAMzU5nx9vCjZdjwAWgcWb653_5Qegz2/s1600/Screen+Shot+2018-09-23+at+10.28.58+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="514" data-original-width="980" height="334" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxGZTkaR7_Ma9aNkY75k5x_IGgEDV7qFVeUHO-PU7iuEcjjtN8xOBbfxCUm0WYhQVJJil4zm2tOMZ6xyCxOli54QsrldV6EeGgTdAcLeqsvtGMXAMzU5nx9vCjZdjwAWgcWb653_5Qegz2/s640/Screen+Shot+2018-09-23+at+10.28.58+AM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Need a funny show to take your mind off of real life? Netflix Vandal is HILARIOUS. True crime is such a popular theme and I am not the biggest fan. I dip in here and there, but its not the only genre I consume. AV takes the seriousness of true crime but applies it to absurd high school pranks. Its all scripted but OMG I die. This season is the Turd burglar. Just watch it!</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
AHS</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BSGW_5AUcjp-IoDFib09Hwwx45HbJ-RxpjYb96OukhINtK7ut88SaxtUokuRjJIiAYIbqbvbr4I0GT95uZ5Bnlc_EFVUAIwzgqxjm4rjz-6E9Sc5ib3ksVEbPc2Iy6dCDuJ0-ri-JX8W/s1600/american-horror-story-apocalpse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="759" height="354" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BSGW_5AUcjp-IoDFib09Hwwx45HbJ-RxpjYb96OukhINtK7ut88SaxtUokuRjJIiAYIbqbvbr4I0GT95uZ5Bnlc_EFVUAIwzgqxjm4rjz-6E9Sc5ib3ksVEbPc2Iy6dCDuJ0-ri-JX8W/s640/american-horror-story-apocalpse.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Oldie but goodie. Perfect for spooky szn but yes, its gory and cringy, but its so good. This season is supposed to mix murder house and coven and coven was my favorite season ever. I am waiting to get to the Coven shit because that was EVERYTHING. AHS just screams spooky szn.<br />

Over the begining of summer I rewatched the Ashlee Simpson Show and I got my life. Not sure why high school me was so obsessed but I was. I had no clue she had a NEW show coming out but sis has been around promoting it and SHE LOOKS GREAT. She's also serving as body goals because I am trying to lose weight and she's had like 5 kids and looks grand.<br />

Her blazer, co-ord sets are everything. BRB, adding blazers to my thrift list. I am here for this.<br />
Her new shoe Ashlee and Evan is on E! and premiered on Sun Sep 9. Her and her husband are working on new music and are just so cute, I am excited to watch the show and see more of her style.<br />
I am bringing the 00's back.<br />

A little design inspo. I don't know if it is because I miss Texas, or if this aesthetic is just so comfortable. I have a pretty gothic mirror in my living room but <a href="http://shopstyle.it/l/RJ7h" target="_blank">this circle mirror</a> from Target that I have been eyeing would be so perfect. I don't need it, and to be honest I am trying not to buy so many "things." When i buy a decor item all I can think about is moving it. Until I settle down, I think I'm stuck making these decor mood boards and living vicariously! </div>

A photolog.Summer is almost over, I know Labor day is the official end, but fall equinox is still a few weeks away. In true summer send off spirit I had to jam 3 more things into my last summer week. Summer Friday's ended and I feel like I spent my whole summer trying to plan my future. I did enjoy moments of it, but all July and August have been a literal retrograde. In an attempt to play catch up I fit in a soccer game, wine tasting and a boat day into one week. (Game not pictured because I looked busted that day)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Makeup forever sent me a sample of the <a href="http://shopstyle.it/l/RaES" target="_blank">matte velvet foundation</a> and I am mostly a fan. Since I didn't pick my color in store I had to get as close as possible online and I am pretty close but the undertone is more red than the yellow I am. I still want to assess the shade range in person, they are boasting 40 shades which is the norm now it seems. The problem is sometimes I find dark shades aren't even a skin tone. I hate nothing more than just finding a dark shade of brown and I have no friends that color. Since I can't speak to what the shades are but I can talk about the wearability! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I put this on for a week daily and I was a fan! It is lightweight and blends really well with my contour and blush routine. It stayed all day and I felt like it had a good amount of coverage for my everyday face. Ya girl is tired like all the time and I think it made me look non-zombie. If you find yourself at<a href="http://shopstyle.it/l/RaES" target="_blank"> Sephora</a> swatch it and let me know what you think! I am thinking of making a trip out to just see if the shade range is authentic to darker skintones. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I still standby only loving CoverFX and Fenty beauty. PHEW. </div>

My current vibe is tucking vintage tees into high waisted pants. Dazey_LA is like, every vintage tee I ever wanted but paired in cute fun ways with way more color. They posted an amazing summer <a href="https://www.dazeyla.com/blogs/dazey-zine/self-care-summer-collection" target="_blank">collection/blog post</a> about self care. Everyone is jumping on these shrooms, you can find a <a href="http://shopstyle.it/l/QKV5" target="_blank">sample kit on Sephora's website</a> now! Its slightly different but still just a good gateway into shrooms. When I first mentioned this product on twitter many people were in a panic, being as through I am in Oregon a green state, but this isn't that kind of shroom. There is nothing hallucinogenic about these mushroom extracts but there are PLENTY of benefits from each. I slowly began seeing Reishi products and tested out a Reishi Coffee from another brand. I liked the flavor and wanted to learn more, so here I am. Testing shrooms. There is a lot of research calling these mushrooms total cure-alls and the answer to many ailments, but in my research I am learning that a lot of the testing is not on humans. While lab results and animals are experiencing exciting results, I will try to not present benefits that truly do not have human research backing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>REISHI </b>is known for <b>boosting the immune system</b>. Reishi is fungus that grows in humid parts of Asia. It is common in eastern medicine and has been a staple in the last few years. The immune enhancing function of reishi effects white blood cells which help fight infections and cancer. In studies that helps mostly if you are currently sick, the tests are kind of inconclusive when applied to people that are already healthy. It also <b>helps fight fatigue and depression</b>. These effects are typically seen after about 4-8 weeks of consistent use.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To me, the taste is very faint in coffee, it blends well. If you buy it from Four Sigmatic it is part of the stress and sleep pack as well a the hot cacao mix. The Stress and sleep elixir tastes best with a nut milk instead of water. It is recommended to blend the Hot Cacao espresso style. </div>

TBH I wanted to sample them all to make sure if I made a blend at work I wouldn't shit my pants mid-day. Everyone clap, none of them gave that effect, thank God.<br />

<b>CHAGA</b> is a popular mushroom popping up in bottled drinks at my favorite health stores. Four Sigmatic calls it s force field in a cup. Talk about a <b>nutrient dense superfood</b>, it has B-complex vitamins, vitamin D, potassium, amino acids, fiver, copper, zinc, iron, calcium... just to name a few. It <b>slows the aging process in some studies</b>, but there isn't too much research to support this yet. Chaga mushrooms do help lower cholesterol. Also, in a 2010 study Chaga was shown to slow the growth of lung, breast, and cervical cancer in a petri dish. In 2009 another study showed it to cause tumor cells to self destruct without harming healthy cells in the process, current cancer treatments can cause harm to healthy cells as well as the cancerous ones. All studies however were carried out on animals or in a lab, there is not an conclusive study on humans yet.<br />
<br />
<b>CORDYCEPS</b> <b>give you energy and improve performance</b>. Studies show cordyceps helps increase the production of ATP , a molecule essential to delivering energy to muscles.<br />
<br />
<b>LIONS MANE </b>has culinary and medical uses in Asia. This is one mushroom many people do equate to being marine/ seafood-like. This mushroom has <b>bioactive substances that help effect the brain, gut and heart. </b>This also<b> helps with mild symptoms of depression and anxiety</b>.<br />
<br />
I'm not a Dr. or a scientist, it's not hard to do the research to see what the benefits are to these mushrooms. I wanted to place it all here for those of you who wanted a quick overview! I personally am a fan of the reishi hot cocao and the mushroom elixir mix. Anything to help my stress and anxiety.<br />

Its national thrift store day! I started finding little gems in high school and honestly haven't stopped. Since moving to PDX I didn't really have the most casual items in my closet or home decor that aesthetically fit my new lifestyle and vibes. Thrifting was such an easy low cost way to update both things for me.<br />
The types of stores that I have found in PDX don't compare to the ones in HTX ( I know... everything is seemingly better in Texas) BUT I have a gem of a goodwill by my house that has surprising finds every time I hit them up. To be honest, I never went into a goodwill before moving here because there were other options I preferred. In the past year I have learned a few tips to shop here specifically because they are an interesting operation!<br />
<br />
1) Sunday is when they change their tag colors. Every week a specific color is 50% off, the entire store inventory is rotated so usually that color is the "oldest" (relative term). Sunday, you get the best pick of items because its the first day and there are more things to choose from in that color. I usually don't limit myself by tag colors when I shop, but it's always a cool bonus to find a new item and see that its 50% off.<br />
2) Many Goodwills (including this one that I frequent) get overstock, clearance, or salvage Target items. I have many target home decor items that I found with target tags on them! There are times that I found a few items stocked that were still in stores. I had my eye on some project 62 gold and marble eye bookends and eye coin dish and found both for a total of $15. Total retail in store? $40. If I had the room, or need, I always find the cutest target chairs and bar stools. They are usually in sets of 3 or 2, but for less than $20. I will continue to talk about decorating on the low in many other blog posts! Just know GW is a go to.<br />
3) Google labels if you aren't familiar and try to pick up quality items. If you are looking at furniture try to aim for solid wood. Looking for clothes? My favorite pair of jeans are a barely worn pair of Lucky brand boyfriend pants that I found for $12.99. I don't know if you can teach a quality eye when it comes to fabrics and construction... its one of extra senses. Typically if something sticks out at me it drapes well, or has great structure or material makeup. I also love cool prints or textures.<br />
<br />
<br />
After getting these pieces I balance my closet as a mix of highs and lows, new and vintage, and low budget Drew Ginsburg. Below are 3 items on repeat that I purchased this summer that have really mixed into my wardrobe well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrxlB2sODE5zNW6RUIbYGMBkqxAvJzYFYS3mDH2N1HjSRHVHQ9P20RojRS_1fQypv5yCQdYf6w3829H6hMR_SeMwCR6GFy-R0EeqdN7z8a6-NZqH2C3T8o-E6_9iElN-qqO5atEacSBar0/s1600/1534475479418.JPEG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrxlB2sODE5zNW6RUIbYGMBkqxAvJzYFYS3mDH2N1HjSRHVHQ9P20RojRS_1fQypv5yCQdYf6w3829H6hMR_SeMwCR6GFy-R0EeqdN7z8a6-NZqH2C3T8o-E6_9iElN-qqO5atEacSBar0/s640/1534475479418.JPEG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the first of my Drew G inspired looks, I paired this terribly overpriced Complexcon X Takashi Murakami tee with thrifted Abercrombie Boyfriend Jeans. I think they were 5.99 (Stark contrast from the $60 I paid for a fucking tshirt). A boho statement necklace if my favorite way to dress up a t-shirt and jeans. I lean toward items that look barely worn, and these were washed maybe once before I owned them. When I think of all the things I have donated they are often things I bought but didn't fit so I never wore them, or things that I barely wore and was like... yea lets drop this. I also have mentioned time again, since moving to PDX I have gained the freshman 15, so new jeans were a must. I needed like 6 pairs... thrifting 6 pairs of GAP, Lucky and other labels was a vibe. I learned that I LOVE Lucky jeans, and now I know my size and how they wear/wash so I am willing to invest in Lucky from their actual stores. To me thrifting is kind of a puzzle piece to my wardrobe, not my pillar, but a good way to balance highs and lows and old and new.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had to feature this peplum top from Free People. I found it WITH the free people tag still on it, retailing for $128, I grabbed this for $6.99. Its been a reallly warm summer by Portland standards, so the lightweight knit texture of this top has been perfect. The silhouette also is one that looks good on me since I have a small waist but wide hips. It cuts my body in half at a good point and makes the proportion of my body look more normal. Its a fun top to dress up or down, but definitely was a good find. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This vintage adidas track jacket was actually found at a curated resale shop in LA. My friends John and Dylan bought and shipped it to me. The two levels of thrifting fall into straight up thrift stores like Goodwill, Savers, Value Village, etc and then curated resale shops with fancy names and store fronts. The curated shops are still great because they often have items on consignment from people that just have style and turn their closet often. Crossroads is a cool example where you can grab consignment Chanel or Louis Vuitton, every now and then a Prada heel or Louboutin makes its way into the shop. Again, in some location the merchandise is from someone who wore whatever it was a handful of times so the items still looks pretty new. You can also find a few vintage pieces that haven't surfaced in quite some time but are still relevant... like this jacket! the inside collar is obviously my favorite. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This skirt thooo. I was combing through the skirt section of GW because again, it's been a hot summer and I needed more options for my legs to breathe. In skirts, construction and cut is really important to me and this knit silhouette fell so perfect on a hangar BUT it is missing its label. I can't verify who made it, but its definitely a quality skirt. It's another fun item to dress up or down and fits very well. Its pleated and drapes just like a cheer skirt but the material makeup is elegant and probably meant for workwear. I'm trying to do my best Drew Ginsburg impression so here is an Outkast tee , western double buckle belt (that I found for $1 when Rue 21 was closing ) and my boho statement necklace.<br />
<br />
What an easy summer? I walk out of GW spending less than $20 every time I make my way in and I have found a good formula that works for me and my closet. I do want to make a better effort of sharing some of my daily style and outfits so stay tuned! I have been in a bit of a grunge/punk mode lately. Issa mood and I have no clue how long it will last.<br />
<br />
Are you a thrift God?<br />

<br />
I'm doing it. I am re-watching the OC and I regret nothing. I remember I liked it the first time around because they had the best music. When Seth worked at "The Bait Shop," which I interpret as a bar that all the coolest artists at the time performed at, I swear I improved my limewire/itunes playlists 1000%. I also forgot season 2, Seth ran away to live with Luke in PORTLAND, OREGON. It was so iconic. They dressed cool, they were also in high school, they were so dramatic and I couldn't wait to watch every Wednesday.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Lets get some trivia going, because its THROWBACK THURSDAY and I am really obsessed with my OC renaissance....<br />
<b>Can you remember 3 epic bands that performed at "The Bait Shop"?</b><br />
1. The Killers<br />
2. Death Cab for Cutie<br />
3. Modest Mouse<br />
<br />
These 3 bands were still rising at the time, crazy how big they got during this era.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW3G8vMnB9UiTXMh-nDQ55dZF1ivhHguvsTfJGStXPpD8FgDQKU8Vh4dNu6Uv__3rGb7L-vm9dnzOwkAZfIyIC6C5AVsO7_rrC6xeChzCral4yEzaYqEVSuFHZUAeoGAUkTjEApU1JMQ_k/s1600/Screen+Shot+2018-08-05+at+9.10.35+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1060" data-original-width="880" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW3G8vMnB9UiTXMh-nDQ55dZF1ivhHguvsTfJGStXPpD8FgDQKU8Vh4dNu6Uv__3rGb7L-vm9dnzOwkAZfIyIC6C5AVsO7_rrC6xeChzCral4yEzaYqEVSuFHZUAeoGAUkTjEApU1JMQ_k/s640/Screen+Shot+2018-08-05+at+9.10.35+PM.png" width="530" /></a></div>
I still have a crush on Seth Cohen. Do you remember the Seth Cohen starter pack? In an episode he has the audacity to date 2 girls at the same time and attempt to give them a starter pack for him, which kills me because he basically invented the starter pack meme.<br />
<br />
<b>THE SETH COHEN STARTER PACK:</b><br />
<b>The Goonies DVD</b><br />
<b>A Copy of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay</b><br />
<b>Albums by Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, and The Shins</b><br />
<br />
I think Seth also invented Hipster.<br />
<br />
Here's a good one you forgot. CHRIS BROWN WAS ON THE SHOW DATING MARISSA'S SISTER. He played a band nerd.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJSQaIvSQfit3v6mkqVFeSV1IrI-HqztZkYJfk3sFDbKQVjHQsZjpVGhj2bVp2zySRYlISEUWYkG-ePAR0T2Z5v7ai_X00m_K7ckWIv6taGg6eNQTnE-Eg6Z0Brwy45Tc7R0zDH_hvixgH/s1600/Screen+Shot+2018-08-05+at+9.35.16+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="834" data-original-width="1370" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJSQaIvSQfit3v6mkqVFeSV1IrI-HqztZkYJfk3sFDbKQVjHQsZjpVGhj2bVp2zySRYlISEUWYkG-ePAR0T2Z5v7ai_X00m_K7ckWIv6taGg6eNQTnE-Eg6Z0Brwy45Tc7R0zDH_hvixgH/s640/Screen+Shot+2018-08-05+at+9.35.16+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
While researching OC facts, I ended up just finding the ultimate thing on buzzfeed... an O.C. drinking game:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/enhanced/webdr02/2013/1/29/12/enhanced-buzz-23778-1359480222-6.jpg?downsize=715:*&output-format=auto&output-quality=auto" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="491" height="640" src="https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/enhanced/webdr02/2013/1/29/12/enhanced-buzz-23778-1359480222-6.jpg?downsize=715:*&output-format=auto&output-quality=auto" width="392" /></a></div>
Did you ever watch the O.C.? Its on Hulu now, if you are interested. I'm still powering through season 2, it really is only downhill from here though, this show burned bright fast and fell off way too early.<br />

<br />
Is school starting? Why are there fall scents at the store? Stop asking me about holiday break!<br />
It's still 90 degrees and OMG its infinite summer in my head. I typically host a segment on here called Music Monday, but I am converting it to Infinite Playlist. I recently (what took me so long) watched Nick and Norah's infinite playlist and I kind of miss the days of making CDs. Monthly playlists here we go:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOsnoaLjGGSGrWYDULleR6LBGZikyfCdU3hHIToOszwFfZ04R5LD33mA5K2TSFNNcNPwTZ3ZkSlgafukF5Crg-pwWLKZxPdjLkU3tsyB5OaLzpbtf-5soosOu6euzsmWBYJ4e4uNFmVEsk/s1600/IMG_2294.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1321" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOsnoaLjGGSGrWYDULleR6LBGZikyfCdU3hHIToOszwFfZ04R5LD33mA5K2TSFNNcNPwTZ3ZkSlgafukF5Crg-pwWLKZxPdjLkU3tsyB5OaLzpbtf-5soosOu6euzsmWBYJ4e4uNFmVEsk/s640/IMG_2294.JPG" width="528" /></a></div>
<br />
WOW IM OLD.<br />
<br />
It was cute that he made cover art and she fell in love with all of his tracks. I listened to this playlist recently on a trip to the coast and it went over pretty well. If you are looking for some easy listening that is pretty chill, and honestly is my total mood... this is it. My music choice is often is a reflection of what I'm going through or tracks to pump me up. This is 35 tracks, two hours and five minutes of pure JAMMMMSSS.<br />

<br />
Also, quick throwback... I used to make mixtapes of my fave songs and post them to soundcloud (WOW). I published them all to mediafire (WAIT...) and accidentally lost them all forever. They're all on an iPod--OH MY GOD IM DONE HERE IS MY PLAYLIST.<br />

Last month I had the opportunity to travel to Ohio for my best friends Birthday. When I first mentioned the location to people I felt heavily judged but Ohio is lowkey lit. Off the Rock & Roll hall of fame alone, I would go back. I spent fourth of July weekend doing the basic: Cincinnati Zoo, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Indians Game, and Put-in Bay.<br />
<div>
I am OBSESSED with Fiona the Hippo. She has been so adorable and her story is so sweet. She was born 6 weeks premature and only weighed 29 lbs. The normal weight for a baby hippo is 55-120 lbs. She couldn't stand and needed to be fed by bottle, this was the first time they ever bottle fed a hippo. No one prior ever milked a hippo... dead. I'm dying. After about a month she was teething and hated the bottle and she became dehydrated and had to have an IV. She has been very well on her way since then. She is definitely a sensation and made us all forget that the Cincinnati zoo is the one that killed Harambe. </div>

I do want to take a quick second to laugh about how my friend slipped on a tomato at the Air BNB. I literally told her it was there but she wasn't listening. </div>

If it didn't require living in Ohio, I think I would consider being a buyer / private label buyer for the R&R hall of fame. It is 6 levels of history that are so inspiring and aesthetically amazing. The roots of rock are Gospel, Blues, R&B, Country, Bluegrass and Folk. Rock is a vibe, its not a genre, that's why artists like Tupac and N.W.A are inductees! I loved looking at all the memorabilia and seeing the history. This is a recurring theme that I will discuss in more posts! Long live rock. </div>

We picked our baseball game solely because it was $1 hotdog night. I only consumed 2 but I regret nothing. The Indians won AND there was a fireworks show at the end. </div>

Have you ever heard of put-in bay? Yea, me either. Its a little island with cute shops and a cute winery. You rent a golf cart and basically just be old all day. It was fun, definitely not something I knew existed but it was relaxing AF.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsT0WksMtpFdEuKdJD7lz-q_HHi9riVsnLWN9othuukvHn-X3VWRv2uNPAP390_m5iSulV8cwdpVqa7Dow_-GRIhCPMtPF4aZp0lLAQyzpxMTTqX3RrzB8_7pKnV4qqDRHupmp_I4nlDq_/s1600/IMG_2136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1497" data-original-width="1235" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsT0WksMtpFdEuKdJD7lz-q_HHi9riVsnLWN9othuukvHn-X3VWRv2uNPAP390_m5iSulV8cwdpVqa7Dow_-GRIhCPMtPF4aZp0lLAQyzpxMTTqX3RrzB8_7pKnV4qqDRHupmp_I4nlDq_/s400/IMG_2136.JPG" width="328" /></a></div>
<br />
It took a minute but we had to grow up a little bit. I was going to write a long post explaining the name change, what Altair means to me, but I don't think its necessary, at least right now. I have learned that change and being uncomfortable is where you grow the most. Doing things outside of my comfort zone is where I thrive, so it was time to let go of my comfort zone and grow into a new one.<br />
<br />
I dug deep into my very first blog post ever on malibumara.com back in 2008 and it was simple and short.<br />
<br />
<b>All it said was "Expect great things."</b><br />
<br />
The last 10 years were great, so here's to at least 10 more.<br />
<br />
I'm older, smarter, and hungrier than I have ever been before. Expect great things, done right.<br />
<br />
<br />
OKAY, SO like... this is definitely a work in progress still. I really wanted to blog, but this isn't my ideal platform still. I have so many ideas, but I wasn't good at wordpress when I was trying out the buildout. Until I can figure it out, this is kind of my band-aid. I'm still pushing out fun new content until we figure it out. I think my whole life is a work in progress... OMG. A JOKE. What an interesting break but.... the bitch is back.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWlqVSNw03oGF60yZ4JDFNYGwUof7VkRyX7Tkr8-6-TduRAP94QDqBxa9mjieq4JSRPcO1mGRe2d9jZkGyB-pU71aoV8MzQBVx5hEajCPqau0M4PqSDFoB8fgyIM2LpPnMl9l1viHjXvTh/s1600/IMG-0871.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1258" data-original-width="1600" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWlqVSNw03oGF60yZ4JDFNYGwUof7VkRyX7Tkr8-6-TduRAP94QDqBxa9mjieq4JSRPcO1mGRe2d9jZkGyB-pU71aoV8MzQBVx5hEajCPqau0M4PqSDFoB8fgyIM2LpPnMl9l1viHjXvTh/s640/IMG-0871.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In an effort to live my best life and cross out things on my vision board I set my sights on taking a calligraphy class this year. Spoiler alert, it is a lot harder (for me) than it looks. I write in all caps soooo learning how to write normal, and fancy is still a struggle. I practice still from time to time. BUT WOW ITS NOT EASY. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Rachel Jacobson taught the class. She is a local modern calligrapher and I loved her work and her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/racheljacobson/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>. We did the class at Tendue in SE Portland and they poured smith tea. As if the calligraphy class didn't already sell me, the tea definitely won me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We started the class by getting used to holding the nib, learning how to do some warm ups and then got into learning the alphabet. I write in all caps so it was a challenge but I want to get better. I am thinking of trying a different nib and making my own modern handwriting. There are so many rap quotes that would make for cool things!</div>

My current top 5 on my playlist give off major emo vibes but I am here for it. Am I going through a midlife crisis? I mean, when you rediscover bands you loved as a teen and see they still make fire music its kind of worth it. I'm here for full stan.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhByWKAP41cBzly5UMGyKGvdRmde7ZKWPSkU7r50ueNDknS673zJgHbkrxtMpszYgCGenyfRyEgZrmt-7gLUNYlQbzLyHi3W9texhdjlLvX7Dd6LEAFwkNagHLoiUTKVI64kYhtGR2CxjEL/s1600/IMG_0659.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1241" data-original-width="1600" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhByWKAP41cBzly5UMGyKGvdRmde7ZKWPSkU7r50ueNDknS673zJgHbkrxtMpszYgCGenyfRyEgZrmt-7gLUNYlQbzLyHi3W9texhdjlLvX7Dd6LEAFwkNagHLoiUTKVI64kYhtGR2CxjEL/s640/IMG_0659.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As someone who washes their hair about once a week, I don't have too much of a fun story to tell when it comes to my curly natural hair. It does take me a while to get through a bottle of conditioner, and twice as long to get through a bottle of shampoo. My rule for the past 6 years has been to make sure my products are sulfate free. Sulfates make curly hair frizzy, curls need all the moisture they can get! I have pretty good results with Marc Anthony products, but Not Your Mothers also has my heart just based on the scents of everything! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Deva curl sent me their new Decadence leave-in and it gave my curls so much moisture! It contains <b>Quinoa Proteins</b>, yes that quinoa-- it helps add shine. <b>Pequi Oil</b> which has a high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids for curl retention and frizz control. Have you heard of <b>Chufa</b>? Chufa helps provide intense moisture. After using shampoo and conditioner you use the Deva Curl decadence leave-in on wet hair. I have always had the habit of using a product on wet hair first. This one is not oily or off putting. I really like it and you don't need that much product for it to work. Where has this been all my life? I have been missing it. </div>

When you say CHI-CITY? Okay enough Kanye quotes. He's so problematic but I kinda gotta support him because you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Speaking of, I went to CHI-CITY for work. So of course, number one order of business, see the bean. I guess the real name is cloud gate? Regardless, we got maybe 3 group photos in and it started POURING. I read the weather before I left and it did warn of lightening and thunderstorms. Did you know people exist that didn't know thunderstorms means rain? Like always means rain? We came with rain jackets because I had to explain that. I never knew people thought thunder was its own thing. But anyway, it started pouring so we ran underneath the bean to take cover. You know, its made of all metal? Neededless to say, we all got kicked out. If that thing got struck by lightening we like, would have all died. It was also flooding really bad in the manner of 10 minutes. What a memory. Of course we took a bit of shelter in the nearest thing, a walgreens... so I bought a magnet. You know, I collect them when I travel. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really need to go back, we ate our way around Chicago but there is so much I didn't get to try. The trip started off on a creepy foot. The inside of our airbnb was cool, the outside was really sketchy. The host was SUPER sketch, but the exposed brick will forever be interior goals. </div>

I grew up with Six Flags but to visit the one at Gurnee Mills was still pretty fun. I rode maybe 3 things and ran to get a turkey leg. There is nowhere in PDX that I trust to get one, so I had to get my fill. I regret nothing, obviously didn't ride anything after eating which I kind of regret but my last job has be tapped out on amusements! I will be headed to Cedar Point when I travel to Ohio in July, so I will get my fill then. Overall, we managed to balance work and play very well. I thought it was going to be really rainy but luckily after our Monday bean incident everything else was fine!</div>
