KHLO C.D. DIY | KHLOE KARDASHIAN INSPIRED COOKIE JAR

If you saw my ballin on a budget DIY marble table you might have seen my DIY cookie jar. I found this jar at goodwill while looking for a cookie jar. This one was less than $5 and the perfect size and dimension for my coffee table. I normally keep candy in it but when I came across halloween Joe Joe's I couldn't resist the opportunity to be festive. My jar is tiny so it only took one package of cookies to fill completely.
This #khlocd hack is so easy... it is a little extra but it looks super cute.
I have seen a jar this large at goodwill but I can not have that many cookies around at all times!

HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEAS 2017

With halloween fast approaching I am sharing my favorite halloween costume ideas and will reveal which one I will DIY. After picking costumes to share I realized I am old AF and this is all inspo from my childhood. Major squad goals!
CHEETAH GIRLS:
How fun and easy is this? Velour is trending again so it will be really easy to find some velour suits and cheetah print will be really easy! Their album is also on spotify, for the full effect.
CLUELESS:
They sell these uniforms at costume stores but I tried on the cutest Dion-esqe 2piece suit at goodwill. It was super tight so I didn't buy it, but this is a fun one to thrift. I LOVED this movie when I was younger!

ZENON GIRL OF THE 21st CENTURY:
I also loved this DCOM. This might be a little harder but soooo fun if you can find all the different color spandex and vests to pull it off! The 90s were so great. I wish this was how people dressed.
EAST COMPTON CLOVER:
THIS IS IT. This is what I am going to DIY for Halloween. THEY DO NOT SELL THIS COSTUME. It is going to be a struggle to DIY this but I can't wait! I have searched high and low but there is only one sketchy website that sells this for like $84. Ya girl is ballin on a budget, so we are going to DIY this.  I'll share how later this month.

What are you planning on being for halloween?

DIY MARBLE TABLE | BALLIN ON A BUDGET

Yes, I even made a cookie jar with my cloche I found at goodwill for $3. I put different candy in their normally but when I saw halloween jo jo's from Trader Joe's I couldn't miss this opportunity.
This DIY took 2 steps. I ordered my contact paper on amazon and simple $20 coffee table from the amazon warehouse in black. My whole living room is white so I wanted to tie back and break up how harsh the black looked in my living room. My whole living room was designed on the low. Everything in this photo was $100 TOTAL. Yes, that includes the couch and the side tables. My couch was a steal, you wont believe the price I got it for but it retails for almost $700. I have been really curating my living room since I moved and I am pleased with my ability to get this furnished with a good eye for cheap.

TOTAL COST: $30
WEST ELM: $599

I did three sections of marble contact paper just because it was the only way I could get it to look somewhat seamless. I slowly stuck it to the table top and smoothed it out with an old loyalty card. There are many colors and styles on this contact paper on amazon! I debated so hard between this and the black marble. Overall I am happy with how it turned out.
INSPO:
I have seen youtube videos on how people put this on their countertops too. This would be an easy DIY for any thrifted furniture too! It was just easiest for me to do this with something from Amazon. The Amazon warehouse is my favorite hack. Items are usually perfectly fine but the box itself might be damaged. They are always a little cheaper. I have had good luck so far with the warehouse. My headboard in my room is also from there! A full $30 cheaper bc it was opened but still perfect.  I'll be sharing more of my ballin on a budget hacks on my blog so stay tuned!

DIY BLEACH TEE

I've been watching a lot of DIY youtubers and youtube videos and kept seeing people revamping their stuff with bleach. We got these free shirts are work and I saw that someone had bleached theirs and I thought, "wow, what a great idea!" This only works with 100% cotton tees, so be to only do this on cotton or it will not work.
I went to the dollar store and grabbed one spray bottle and one small thing of bleach. I don't use bleach on my laundry so I had to run out and buy these things!
There are many methods to the bleach tee I went for the easy one:

Dipped Paintings

Dipped art. Need to do this ASAP.
I am currently obsessed with decorating. I am thinking of switching up some of our walls soon and I found an awesome way to update old unloved art from the thrift store.
I have been trying to find art prints for a gallery wall but everything is so pricey, I change my mind and style a lot (hence why I am redecorating) and I am not trying to spend a fortune. I made a lot of the items in my current space and this is the perfect start for an epic gallery wall.
I am not sure what colors we will do yet but I need to find my way to the nearest thrift and start DIYing.

Leather for Lunch?

My next DIY inspiration is the Leather Lunch sack. I am giving in. About a year ago I blogged this leather lunch bag  and stated I wasn't into the look... Oh fashion. I need it now. I guess because I actually bring my lunch 80% of the time to work, I need something to carry it in.I have some left over PU leather BUT now that I can swing by High Fashion Fabrics, I might opt for 1/2 a yard of something shiny and precocious!

Sew Easy, DIY Neon and Lace Dress

Yesterday I picked up my last check at the town center and decided to shop around to see if there was anything I wanted. I kept seeing white lace dresses but In my head I wanted to layer it with neon. I saw the perfect dress at forever21 but for some reason I told myself I could make it myself. The one pictured is a cute A-line dress from Topshop. I was feeling crafty so I drove to Jo-ann's fabric and bought some lace and neon broadcloth and started molding my dress.

I'm petite so I only used 1 yd of each fabric. They sell lace and broadcloth in virtually every color so you can make this dress yourself in any colors you choose!

If you want a tutorial let me know, I'll draw it up, it was Super easy to make!
TOTAL COST=$10

DIY-BELT BOOTS!

I need to try this! I wish I learned about these pre-rodeo, but I live in Texas; so they are forever appropriate :) I need to go to thrift stores, collect belts, and add this DIY to my list! They are based off of the Luxury Jones Boots that retail about $270 and are all one of a kind. I think I would be paranoid and want them to match. I don't know how I feel about wearing 2 diff looking boots.
Watch the Mr.Kate DIY to see how to make them!

Krylon Glitter Blast

A DIY girls best friend. I really need to buy this stuff in every color.
For those of you who aren't familiar, Krylon makes regular spray paint:
I enjoy looking at graffiti. The artsy kind that is. And yes I know a thing or two, real artists think krylon (or all american spray paint) is not suitable for graffiti. BUT ANYWAY-- Imagine my excitement when I saw these cans! I mean, Imagine all the DIY possibilities:

Trend Alert- Shoulder Cut-Outs

Last night I made a top like this (Well began to, I have to pull out my sewing machine and hem the raw edges) and this morning someone on twitter mentioned it. HE ALSO MENTIONED PLEASE HAVE SMALL SHOULDERS when wearing this trend. TRUTH. You will look like a linebacker.

This is a really easy DIY,  I get my camp shirts at thrift stores from the little boys section. Pretty awesome if you ask me. They always have mountains of Ralph Lauren for $1-5.I found this tutorial at style hive, this is pretty much how it works, BUT her shirt is way too big for it so it looks silly.

DIY American Apparel Pouch

Yes this is another AnneorShine DIY that I tired. Her tutorials are so simple! And I really wanted one of these and the DIY took me like 30mins. I added a lining on the insides of mine though, she does not. At American Apparel they are anywhere from $50-70, this DIY costed me about $10.

I used 1/3 of a pleather I found on sale for $6 a yard, they had some amazing materials that were well over $30 a yard that I could have used, but I have never made a pouch before so I didn't want to mess up. I might go back and make and ostrich one LOL.

DIY Jewelry Box

I was going to do an elaborate DIY tutorial BUT I was inspired by one of my favorite youtubers AnneorShine! I did pretty much the same as her, I have a lot of old materials left over from projects since I'm a fashion student. if you don't have these materials at home hobby lobby is a good place to one stop shop! I adjusted the measurements to fit my box though:
I found this box by chance on sale for $2! It looks dingy but I remembered Anne's tutorial so I knew I could do it with this box, BEFORE:
AFTER:

I just added trim to the sides to cover how gross it looked before. LOL

Most of my rings are too fat to put in the holders but I like having most of them lying out flat. Also the top 3 rows are my actual "nice" rings so its good that I put them somewhere other than a random box.

OMG ignore my nails. But the right panel is my fat rings, all my favorite rings are fat LOL. I'm wearing my 3 favorite rings. The other 2 panels on the left are my watches and my current stack. And yes that is the Arty ring in blue on the pointer and red on my ring finger.
