BATTLE OF THE PINEY WOODS 2013
Battle of the Piney woods is the name of one of Texas' oldest rivalries. Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin have battled it out 88 times with SHSU coming through with more wins- OBVIOUSLY. SHSU is really just the better university, current record stands at 64-48 wins. Alumni Status was in full effect this weekend. My alma mater had their rivalry game of the year and of course to not break tradition I had to go! It's played at reliant stadium each year because the game got so big, and this year was the biggest yet with almost 25,000 people in attendance.(If you know how small both schools are, that's kind of a big deal) My bestie Jacquie ordered custom Koozies from etsy (and sadly lost her's after ordering them for everyone) and they are soooo cute.
PS: The weather was awesome, reliant had the stadium roof open and it was perfect.
