MANICURE MONDAY: CHROME NAILS x FAIRY DUST

The latest trend in nail art is all about that shine. Chrome and Glitters are everything and summer has been incomplete without them. Both are a powder application and transform any color. I started with a pink base coat and I suddenly feel bad because I forgot the name of it. The chrome in person comes off as a rose gold. The fairy dust is sooooo glittery it's unreal in person.

Manicure Monday: Matte Love.

I've been experimenting with matte colors lately. I picked up a few of Kylie's sinful colors collection and I'm pretty impressed with how the matte formula is now. Back in college I tried matte polishes out and was not very happy with the staying (or lack there of) power of them. They would flake off pretty easily. The Kylie colors stayed on for about 10 days before starting to come off. These are my natural nails and I got them done here in Houston at Dripped Nails.
This is a fun Presto topcoat on top of OPI Will Manicure for Beads, a fun summer perfect purple. If you are in Houston DRIPPED NAILS is my go to and the nail tech that can Matte anything with this super awesome imported polish is CARLA. Its from Japan y'all. Kawaii vibes.
If you're not in Houston you can achieve an at  home version of matte with some of the colors in Kylie Jenner's Sinful Colors Nailpolish line. They retail $2.99 USD and the matte collection is available at Target. Pictured the baby pink and blue (pantone vibes) are matte. The white is a high shine color available at Walmart. They stay on pretty well and are affordable to try on your own!

I think I might be obsessed. Its so pretty!

D | Dripped Nails

This was a given. Dripped Nails has been my favorite salon in the city since they were doing nails in their houses. Now as a shop on Westheimer, this shop is a cult favorite in the city. I made a collage of some of my favorite sets I have gotten from them. I didn't realize it was so many! You can book online through their website.
When I get nail art ideas I browse pinterest or instagram for whatever theme I want to go for then I'll send a photo of what I want. Everything has come out pretty cool so far! There are a lot of cool things I want to do this year, I'm already trying to come up with some Comic Con nails to top last year!

Stop by! They're so unique, its a cooler experience than the basic color and accent nail.

MANICURE MONDAY: Halloween Nails, Serial Killer.

In honor of Halloween I am rocking some "Blood Spatter" inspired nails. Maybe I killed a bunch of walkers on the Walking Dead, or just a I'm serial Killer. Either way, I am loving the blood spatter. White nails have quickly become a go too for me, so this splatter is a nice subtle way to celebrate halloween without being over the top.
How are you painting your nails for Halloween this year?

Labor Day: But I Still Wear White Year Round

This is unrelated, but I do want to mention that I think the idea of not wearing white after Labor Day is so antiquated. So no, I don't believe in that, and yes I will still wear white.
But anyway, what have I been up to? I have had a full 5day weekend. I had food poisoning! Much to my out fault, but omg it was not a great experience. Nope. So besides trying to not be weak, its been a pretty lame weekend.
I did want to share my nails and my long time obsession with the evil eye. I did a small ode to Meelo, he always winked. This was perfectly done at Dripped Nails in Montrose, Houston.

MANICURE MONDAY | CAMO X DRIPPED NAILS

Oh, Monday.

Manicure Monday featuring the ladies of Dripped Nails once again. This weekend we worked on a photoshoot and they hooked me up with a camo nail! This one features shades of nude, white and black.
Don't mind the hot cocoa. It has been super chilly this past week and looking at the forecast, I don't see an end in sight. I can't believe its almost halfway through January. Its almost time for me to move again! Artopia is around the corner. I have another aerial yoga class and I'm taking my first crossfit class also this week!

CHEERS to a GREAT WEEK

Manicure Monday: Dripped HTX

Equipped with my new Iphone six my friend Carla from Houston's Dripped nails invited me over to use my nails as a blank canvas. Once Dripped nails gets fully launched I will tell you more about it! We opted for a nude and black combination and I think they came out super cute! I've been getting lots of compliments on them and can't wait for Dripped to open up! You know I love me some nail art. Before you ask, YES these are my real nails. I have had strong, long nails my whole life.
