Current Crave: Bao Bao Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake must know I like anything with Texture. The geometric print of the Bao Bao bag is something I am currently craving.I randomly see this bag on stylish Asians and always wondered what it was. I finally googled it after seeing it at the Hello Kitty event and now I really want one.
Both light and soft, it folds, accommodates and transforms itself after handling to create dramatic new shapes. BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE is a line of bags and pouches with the theme of "shapes made by chance." It features a flexible functionality perfect for busy modern lifestyles. Since its inception in 2000, it has established a unique array of products through its pursuit of intriguing shapes born out of simple pieces and diverse materials.

It comes in so many colors, I wish I could start a collection.

WEEKEND WRAP-UP: WHERE DID JUNE GO?

I had a pretty quiet week.
It's 10 days until Comic Con, so this ok with me. July will be filled with Travel inspired posts... mainly because I'm traveling a ton... but what's new? I just want to go to San Diego already!
 But Meanwhile, this week:
Dripped nails for Hello Kitty are whats up. I didn't get to post these earlier, so here they were in all their glory.
The world is changing slowly but surely. Gay Marriage is now legal and people can marry whoever they feel like because who cares! Why tell people they don't have the right to get married? LIFE IS SHORT.
Probably the highlight of my work week. Smoosh cookies are basically amazing Ice Cream Sandwiches. Cookies + Ice Cream + candy. I started off pretty simple with Chocolate Chip cookies, vanilla ice cream, and m&m's.
I can't express enough how happy I am that this week is only 4 days long thanks to Merica and the 4th of July.  I just need to get through the week, and then my vacation of inspiration will begin! I just need this last hurrah before I begin evolving again.
STAY TUNED.

HELLO KITTY Air plane arrives in Houston!

If you follow me on any of my other social media channels you have seen that I got the great pleasure of viewing the Hello Kitty plane as soon as it landed here in Houston, TX.

I pretty much died and went to heaven. I felt like I was in a Hello Kitty theme park for a little while.
Before the plane arrived from Taipei we spent time in an indoor area with music, exhibits, and lots of food! I tried a little bit of everything, dashing from food stations to selfie booths. I was basically at my own personal Disney Land, but much better. SANRIO LAND.

YELLOW ROSE DISTILLERY | TIDBITS TAGS SALE

After work I ventured to the Yellow Rose Distillery to shop the tidbits tags sale AND see the distillery. I have always wanted to tour one, so there I was. I don't even like Whiskey! I was to try a few, and yes they are still not for me.
Since we were in a distillery it was very hot. I walked through pretty quickly and stopped at Chloe Dao's section. I caught glimpse of the perfect gift for my bosses birthday and in scanning the table, saw Chloe Dao herself! She posed for a couple photos including the gift I purchased! She is so sweet, I love supporting local.
FUN FACT: The first time I ever met Chloe Dao was 10 years ago when I was in High School and attended Project Career day. She was the special guest and it was at that same event I decided I wanted to be a Buyer.
Welp, here I am.

TCS Closets | Custom Closets by the Container Store

When you were younger did you have a barbie Dream house? My favorite part of my barbie house layout was her closet. I had an organized barbie closet for everything from her Cinderella dress to her nurse uniform. As a child I organized closets, today... its much of the same.   I do have a pretty large closet but its already kind of packed and aesthetically not exactly my dream.
Enter, TCS Closets. The container store is offering a build out option from top to bottom that you can fully customize in every way possible. You can pick the wood, the hardware furnishings, the fixtures. It's amazing.

DREAM CLOSET. Can I please have glass doors and shoe shelves? Granted I don't even own cool shoes... I just like how neat it all looks. Its almost like having a mini boutique in your house.
One day!

After Work Thoughts | I Need a Drink

This week has been a long one. Mid week I ventured to Bovine and Barley for a Tidbits Front Row event! The place is really cute but there were wayyyy to many of us for a little party room. I stayed for about 30 minutes and left but not before snapping a shot of the awesome HTX wall light installation.
Bovine and Barley is nestled on the quiet end of Main street downtown. Oh, Downtown Houston. For me, venturing to Downtown is a game of remembering where I park (which now consists of me dropping my Pin on my IPhone and texting it to my BF), dodging the metro rail, and dodging Bums asking for cash.
The event consisted of appetizers that I didn't really get a chance to try due to how crowded we were and how awkward it was trying to eat standing up. We also got 2 drink tickets for beer of wine only. At least I was able to pick up some Coupons that are perks for Tidbits FrontRow members.

Ever since my friend died I have been very "Life is short" with my mindset. Sometimes it's ok to believe you are bigger than your situation. Lately I think the question in my head has boiled down to, "Do you hate what you're doing, or who you're doing it for?" Long story short,  changes are coming.

I did say this year would be the year I do things I never have before...

FPSF | Festival Summer Nails

My friends at Dripped are so close to opening I am super excited. The shop is in Montrose and very modern. I've been letting them use my nails as a canvas, and I think my go to for summer is going to be white. I love it.
I also picked up this Hershel hat from Urban Outfitters for $10. My lazy Sunday outfit was winning. Expect to see more of this hat... I'm kind of obsessed with it.

Hello, June.

I can never believe the time flies like it does. June means its time for Free Press Summer Fest!
This is the first time in 2 years that I am not going. Things didn't line up for me to go BUT...
Don't you love this view? Due to this years rains, FPSF has been relocated!
To take us back a bit, last year was a little challenging. It rained that morning and was delayed 2 hours, it was super muddy and way over crowded. the views make it worth it, you're literally in the middle of the city. Being in the city is essentially being in a bowl... water from the floods rose the water in this area over 35 feet.
Elanor Tinsley park just endured a recent renovation so this is a little devastating. The saturated grounds won't recover in time to set up the stages and having hundreds of thousands of people shuffling away probably will not help. In coordination with the city the decision was made to move the event to NRG Park.... I'm not sure how you can catch the festival vibes from there, but I do know that FPSF has by far out grown Elanor. A change of Venue is still needed in the future, but the views from Elanor Tinsley are just awesome.

This week I have a festival fashion series for Free Press Summer Fest.
I'll be there in spirit. I wish Jack U would headline, Skrillex by himself is dope... and I love me some Major Lazer... but Jack U is my shit.
